Bump start technique?

Re post 23 and the parts required to fit the jump start positive point which Motorworks sell for £11:50.

As far as the negative point is concerned, apart from a non insulated point, what part of the bike would you recommend for the - connection? Any areas that you would advise to keep away from?

Looking at putting the kit onto my 02 GS.

I just have the positive point fitted, I use the footrest for the earth lead, easy :thumb2
not used them in anger yet though, but it has come in handy for connecting a proper battery charger though.

Ordered the parts from BMW in the end for £10:48.
I was awaiting delivery of something else from them so did not have to pay any extra P+P. Otherwise it would have been an extra £2.

Motorworks want £11:50 plus P+P. Their part number is POA71354.
 
my 03 R1150GS Adventure has the starter plug thingymabob...

AND

After having had BMW fit the wrong battery to the bike (ahem) i am proud to say I also could not bump me bike... on three separate occasions!
Good lines on road though (and me girlfriend helped too... must be catchin)
