bungs fell out or disappeared in the shaft cover

I knew it were never going to stay for long

I’ve just covered the hole with tank tape and I’ll short it at service which is due soon

What an utter shite way for a modern company with all its engneering resources to carry on

I'm reliably informed that BMW supplied dealerships with a 10mm drill to make the hole in the swingarm. Following reports of the bung / valve / whatever it is disappearing inside the swing arm, they're now issuing a 9.5mm drill for the job.

This is not great for us with the already drilled 10mm hole :nenau

It never rains, it just pours

They will investigate then in 6 months time issue a kit to drill it out the 10mm hole to 12mm and put in a threaded insert with a 9.5mm hole in its centre to cover up their original bollocks up

Put a grease nipple in there and fill the cardan housing with grease.

I’ve told them I don’t want the mod doing, I’ll chance it.

Mine is out of warranty…I am not sure what benefit I would get from the bung that I won’t get from annual drop/grease. AFAIK having the bung doesn’t get you any extra drive shaft warranty from then on.
