Bungie Lugs - WTF?

Anyone tried using standard bungies?

The new lugs are ridiculous and wont take a standard hook.

Do you need a special BMW strap to secure luggage? (or in this case 10kg bags of koi fish food).

...or am I just being thick and there's something I've missed.

I'm pretty sure I'm being thick as well. I use Rok straps and these are fine on the rear hooks but I'd prefer to attach to the subframe under the seat for the front strap and I can't see a decent way to anchor them so the strap protrudes from under the seat and then connects.

I ended up using the grab rails and this is fine but obviously has more movement than a single anchor point.

Bungees are just so Precariat don't ya know You need either ROK straps or the BMW luggage straps, both pretty good in my experience.

For maximum security I always take the straps to the subframe rather than the carrier or seat.
