If the seat support bar had caused that battery problem the seat would have also been toast. If the wiring was ok it's more likely a faulty battery. Hopefully the frame and swing arm etc were checked for acid damage.
MIne rattles in neutral so TBH I do pull the clutch at traffic light, but I dont blip the throttle and never hold it for very long. But the rattle does sound like a 1950s BSA.
