Hi

I have just polished a smear of burnt boot rubber off the left-hand stainless exhaust. I suppose I must brush my boot on it when changing gear.

Has anyone any suggestions for preventing this?

Somehow I knew what the answer was before I opened it:blast

Now the jokes are out of the way...

Won't you look a little silly walking around with a shield on your boot

Phooey, that's nothing.

A few years ago I took a mate down to Nant Gwrtheyrn on the pillion via the old road which had bits of 1-in-4 gradient. When we got to the bottom he couldn't get off the bike, had had leaned back so much on the way down he had welded his heels to the silencers. I remember him peeling the lumps of sticky black rubber off the silencers and throwing them away in disgust.

So cheer up, things could be worse. :thumb2

I was thinking of asbestos spurs
or at least one

might look a little gay :D

or jubilee a bit of a SS oversized pipe in that area :thumb2

Wear more suitable footwear than Clown boots then.

Or stop using the pillion footrests instead of the rider`s ones.

As no one has come up with a sensible suggestion..... Ive had a look at mine which is fitted with lowered footpegs, No sign of boot contact.. have you tried adjusting the gear lever so that your boot dos'nt come into contact with the exhaust
