I had a spill in March and damaged my Autcom.

The head of the rider lead is damaged (suspect wires inside have broken). Does anyone have any expereince with dismantling an Autocom and doing any work on them or should I bring it to a dealer??

Planning on bastardising an old headset extension to replace the damaged part.

Cheers

Is it worth it?

A new headset without the boom mic is only 20 quid. I need one after damaging the wires where they split into 3 from the connector.

regards Path.

It will depend on the model. On mine (Pro avi) just open the box and unplug the lead from the multi connector and plug the new lead in. They even send you a new sticker to cover the screw heads again.

Ring Autocom ask to speak to the repairs. They will do it for you,and it will be guarenteed they are BLOODY GOOD,always helped me out with all the dumb stuff i have done in the past.
