Buyers guide/check list?

Hi All
When I read Steptoe’s description of his bike for sale he mentioned a few things that ruled his bike out of being a high mileage bike. This made me think that I haven't got a clue what I'm looking for with a GS, or what I should be looking out for? I gather then there are clutch issues (?) and noisy throttle bodies? But apart from the standard checks you would do with any bike, what other things is it advisable to check with a GS11/1150?
I'd be grateful for a list of things to check, and if relevant how to check them, so I can collate the info and make up a buyers guide/check list thing.

Nice check list, thanks.

I was wondering if there were any specific isssues to watch out for with GS11s and 1150s? Some bikes have known faults and common problems, I was wondering if the GSs did?
