you should get on to ebay and report what you know it might save someone who is not as wise and see's a bargin and gets burnt.

eBay is easy.
you buy a bike.
you go to collect bike.
if it's as stated and you have done all your checks- HPI,owners docs, history etc etc.
you pay the nice man. [and pray]
if not! WALK AWAY.
the only bike i have ever caught a cold by was via UKGSER :blast Cat D.[Aprilia 650]
as i was buying via here i never did the checks " BIG MISTAKE.
Cost me £1000. FFS

bought my Aprilia on ebay, but went and checked the bike out first, got good deal and am very happy, ebay dont have a warehouse,so steer clear of the scammers and report them asap...........

I am currently selling my GS on eBay.

As stated by others here you don't part with any money until you have seen and are happy with the bike. If it's not as described then you don't have to have it. There is no 'transaction' over the internet so no contract exists.

Mine is advertised. If someone is interested they'll phone for a chat and maybe to arrange a viewing.
IF they want the bike, they pay and take it.
Pretty much as you would if replying to an advert in the local newspaper or MCN.

This arrangement you state sounds iffy to me and I would certainly not part with any cash before a viewing.

OK OK

I agree withevery one it is a scam
But let me tell you all this.......

Untill you get to the payment stage

ITS A BLOODY GOOD ONE

There but for the grace of ...........

Thats not quite the way Ebay sees it. If you win the auction you do have a contract with the seller (which includes the price & condition). However if you keep your money in your pocket till you've seen the bike there's very little that they can do if you choose not to hand it over.

Having bought and sold loads of bikes on Ebay I have no problems with it, but as with anything else you do have to watch out for the occasional tw4t.

I still have a cheque for £5000 that a Nigerian gent sent me six years ago for a bike that was worth £2500. How very trusting of him to send me his cheque without seeing the bike. Needless to say the bike stayed locked in my garage.
