I have a 55 plate 12GS with no warrantee, but have usual breakdown cover from insurer. Am now using bike for work trips across southern England, and am trying to buy a warrantee for her. Dealers give me different stories, and prices. Can anyone give me a pointer as to where to get one, and is £300 ish about right?
Thanks all.

Your dealer should be able to give you details of their extended warranty which is the best you can get IMHO. Cost is around £320 per annum.

There are others available but aren't backed by the manufacturer.

My 2007 GS12 is due warranty renewal and BMW have sent me the details.
It says bikes under 800cc = £275 annual or £25.00 per month and bikes over 800cc = £310 per year or £29.00 per month. I should point out that the letter also says this warranty is only available to renew while under original warranty! My friend who works in BMW did advise me to take it with no excess of which you have the choice of £0, £50, or £100 excess. The point he made was most claims are for about £100 and so it's obviously better with no excess. One could argue that my friend was just trying to get more money from my pocket but he did advise me as a friend.:nenau
I think it is probably worth £310 for piece of mind and the no questions asked BMW warranty. Saying that I think I have only made one claim in two years.:nenau
I don't care what some guys on here say I think my GS12 is fantastic and probably the best bike all round I've ever had. :hide

Thanks guys,
I think the issue of continuous warrantee is where I've had the problem, as bike was bought with dealers 3 month policy, now expired. Bike has had a couple of seals replaced, and touch wood all else is well. I'm just aware that the miles will start to rack up. I might even consider p/x for one with full BMW cover as part of deal!
