bye bye 800

While I'm at it I would like to comment about the general tone of replies on here. Not aiming these at the guy who lost his bike, he's just frothing at anyone who tells him things he doesn't like. The others on here are only open to comments from subscribers while non-subscribers are looked down on. I would like to remind the users of this forum that it's unusual to have to pay on a forum to access the basic functions. New members are not made to feel welcome here, this forum is elitist and uninviting, much like BMW riders in general who never like to mix with others at bike meetings where they usually separate themselves from others and rarely even interact with other BMW riders.
This is one issue I have with owning these bikes, the riders are generally quite rude when you meet them.
Now commenting on people who turn up at the end of an auction and coming from London? Well the evidence hardly bears out that we turned up at the end. How would I have had time to inspect the bike? Why are people from London looked down on? Virtuallyeverywhere is a rude, childish little cock who has barely enough good sense to keep himself on the road but seems to be accepted and cheered on by others, some of them appearing to be mods. I have not met this lowbrow kind of crap since the Aprilia forum where they try to ban you if you comment that your bike broke down (cognitive dissonance at work). The fact is, this guy lost his bike because he didn't look after it. People have commented that they didn't buy the bike because there was too much wrong with it. People on here have sneered at forum users who are using a forum in a polite and reasonable way. I am disappointed with this experience and have to note to the mods that posting my profile details to a thread is a personal violation of trust and grounds for banning when instead the mods are egging him on. Hardly an advert for this forum and not grounds to ask for money. ADV forum is far better, the advice I've got is wider and more useful and yet they have asked me for nothing. I can say the same for the Triumph, AF1, Yamaha, XT and other BMW related forums.

You come into a thread (by your own admission) to piss the guy off because you have previous.

Then you get arsey with those that know him and are standing by him what the hell kind of response do you expect to get:nenau

kickin somebody when they are down is going to get this kind of response
you seem a fairly intelligent sort surely you understand this;)

Meet some of us in person before you pidgeon hole us to we might even buy you a coffee:D

I've got to ask if matey doesn't know what he's done, could I ask you...?

did he wipe his knob on yer curtains, take a shit in your window box or shag your puppy? It's got to be something serious to warrent this amount of time spent on what is really a non story.

as I see it chumpy, had a bike which he used fair play, which would have ended up with scratches, he tried to change his agreement "no can do!" says BMW. So it's stuffed up, the bike goes back, now belongs to someone else end of.

If it had a scratch or several what jot of difference does it make actually make to the price of bacon... it's now someone elses property who with a bit of luck will put some more scratches on it. Atleast that way it's being used... for the right purpose...:thumb2

If whatever top buzz did is worse than the above, would it not be less hassle to buy a wood chipper and a chainsaw from some pikey's....

Life's too short... IMHO :thumb2

I'm obviously speaking on behalf of the mentally ill section of this forum. Anything I may have suggested is meant as a joke... and should not be taken seriously.... incase someone on this forum is slight more out of wack than me....:blast

I like the name "Top Buzz" :beerjug: but don't give him ideas. He's already got a BBgun and a depressive, negative attitude. My house is not geared up to defend against chainsaw attack and the Klim gear is good but it won't hold out to a wood chipper :D

I like to say hello & its not fake (welcome section) doesn't bother me about subscription really.

(I do have to put my hands up to briefly meeting the owner of the forums & from my own experience. He & his lovely lady are more than accommodating to knew ideas/knew levels of thought.)
:augie

I've met so many interesting people in this past year. It's amazing how small the adventure biking scene becomes once you get involved. However I do agree with you Jtw000 in general. Its quite clicky, the 1200 lads do group together. Same as the 800 lad's & ladies. But once you've get past that stage its about sharing a few dire/witty moments in life. For me its about hopes & dreams of slow meandering roads ..leading to GOLD! :aidan

Why are people from London looked down on?

Hardly an advert for this forum and not grounds to ask for money.

Londinium lets not go there.

I dunno you know jtw000. I really think a small fee for the information that's locked within this cyber-world of ukgser is well worth £12 (as my subscription is running out..eek).

Hey come on people, its good to get emotional & argue & deliberate over this & that. We can agree to disagree; Jon is a cock. If so I'm a bigger cock & Chad is huge & don't mess with him lol. When you fall into trouble, have a car crash exectra time suddenly slows down or your flow is interrupted. You know, do you believe in karma?? Forgiving others for there faults & foibles is to be human.

I vent my anger by playing FPS online games. Whats your release? I've a family of alcoholics & my hobbies/passions will never all be fulfilled. This biking lark & touring is an expensive sort of freedom. Lets move on] Jon is cool & have you seen this??

Hi Jon try and keep your chin up. I think I have met you at least twice and I have found you to be a very friendly Guy. Sorry you are going throught a very difficult time in your life. As for your bike I think we can say it was USED, Is that not what they were made for. As for kicking a man when he is down (Little Le800gs) Unless your are prepared to say why you are so pissed @ Jon. I would say your the Looser + a Wanker as well. Should it not be enough for you to know that Jon is/ has suffered. Just goes to show what type of person you must be. While I'm on my rant Jtwoo I Must be the exception to the rule !!!!! As for one. I have found everybody I have met from this site to be very Friendly and welcoming. 1200 owners & 1150 owners alike. But then Again I Have only met members from east midlands upwards:augie:augie:augie ha ha. As for your comments about Aprilia forums. I have found them to be awesome with the help & knowledge they provide to help with issue's/ Faults. I for one have posted every fault I have come across with my bike & have never been ask to leave the forum.

Just my 2 pence worth ( please note I not been allowed to ride/ drive for 4 weeks:(:(. So this might seem a bit OTT)

John/ Pugs

Why are people from London looked down on?

a bit harsh,

I would say the opposite as in you could draw an opinion that forum text is sometimes offending or rude and taken the wrong way (like kids texting on mobile phones nearly always not actualy calling and speaking loosing a social skill of communication woteva) where those that actualy meet find the very same people in a different light and form good lasting friendships.:thumb2

there is a lot of meets and ride outs which some people put a lot of work into

I have been on one ride out with the suffolk guys bearing in mind I was the only F650GS rider there I was welcomed by all, all were friendly, chatty nice bunch.800's, 1100's, 1200's some with their other halfs the Adventure Day at the Ace was a good Day also a good atmosphere all round :D

Paying a £12.00 personaly I joined after lurking and found a thread about the cheapest nose cone, I figured then the forum was saving me money the best way for me to repay that saving was to subscribe, then you get full features or as you state better than basic functions. lots of interesting threads.

Why are people looked down upon, well not from other Londoners and people of Essex, why because London is the best capital city in the world and Essex is the capital County. Its got to be Jealousy pure and simple :thumb2 same as people in scotland and Wales and further afeild look down on England its just jealousy but only thoes that look down. those from other areas that do not look down are not jealous but happy and content :thumb2

did he shag your puppy?

Thats just sick, I got puppies couldnt you have said kittens. :blast

Same as the 800 lad's & ladies. But once you've get past that stage its about sharing a few dire/witty moments in life. For me its about hopes & dreams of slow meandering roads ..leading to GOLD! :aidan

Dont Forget the 650's,

Gold is that OHLIN gold? :D :D :D :D

Theres way to much cock talk here! when Jon said cock further up i took it as the context of northern speak. being essex when i read the posts here I read them in my head like you do in my essex speak if you get my Gist!!

I was thinking northern cock you know like Cilla black would say "alright Cock" but im not sure now its all gone cock a hoop, i think some people meant NOB or Knob with a capital K, now I hope this makes some sence and is not complete Bowl-ox.

Jon is a cock. If so I'm a bigger cock & Chad is huge & don't mess with him

Gunz, Gunz, Gunz... c'mon man you're blowing our cover here. You're going to reveal what is really going on in the 800/650 clique :D

This has been, to date, too handbags for me to get involved in. However, I would like to interject with a couple of points. Firstly, I think that you're off base in your condemnations and slighting of Jon. He is a generous and upright guy and your summation of his character is erroneous. Consequently, his bike was in the condition he said it was in when it was collected and must have, at some point, been abused in the interim. I knew his bike and it was ridden, unlike many of the bikes photographed on this and other forums, but it was by no means abused.

Yes, you do have to pay for this forum to take advantage of all that it offers. It's your choice and there should be no negative critique of those who don't. Charging is obviously a commercial decision, but some, like me, believe the paltry £12 per year is worth it. Let's face it, many of us would love a business model which was a channel of income but which, at the same time, fostered community, for a fee which most can afford. As it happens, I'm also in the Horizon's community and the ADV prisoners but use this as the primary touchstone as it's less American.

In any case, I'm sure your contributions will be valued, and even more so when you pitch up at some events and meet some of those who make this a good place to be. In the meantime, I'd temper the bolshyness and stay in the mix. Maybe you'll have a pint with Jon at some time in the future and recognise that he's liked because he's a damned fine lad. Maybe see you on the road...

Never true, although there is a rush to encorouge people to subscribe.

Basic functions are free to everyone.

Pot and kettle!

Virtuallyeverywhere is a rude, childish little cock who has barely enough good sense to keep himself on the road

Yes. I think he is little.

I have not met this lowbrow kind of crap since the Aprilia forum where they try to ban you if you comment that your bike broke down

And we've not banned you! what does that say about us? Or you?.[/QUOTE

jtw000, as SiJohnston points out I'm not as bad as you may think and would be happy to bury the hatchet and have a beer with you. My point about London was not aimed at Londoners. It was just an observation that all the negative posters were London based. As they were also not subscribed I thought that it might be the same person. Clearly not but I've seen it before. If you have to pay £12 to setup a new identity then that sort of thing is nipped in the bud. Of course I know you are the real deal as you are on other forums.

Virtuallyeverywhere is a rude, childish little cock who has barely enough good sense to keep himself on the road

Yes. I think he is little.

Easy fella :D I'll have a drink with you too if you play nicely. :beerjug:

puppies for play, kittens for hard sport that's what Jon likes apprently....:augie

not a bad rumour to start.....:thumb2

You obviously haven't heard about the other "Jon" (Rudiemoto) in the Northwest section. After the puppies and kittens he started cooking the non subscribers :hide

Good to be back. I've been involved with andesmotoextreme.com, other bits and bobs and riding SiJohnstons bike back to NI recently but the K bike is my current pet project. Don't think there will be too much adventuring done on it but I'm looking forward to finding some warm weather and touring around on it with my missus :beerjug:
