I am about to buy a new helmet, Shoei is my headshape and prefered brand, maybe an XR1000.

However, I have a new lady, who it seems will be spending some time on the bike with me.

I have been thinking intercom etc, and saw the Caberg has a Bluetooth facility, so many questions arrise.

Has anyone tried them, know a friend who has etc.....? What was the outcome?

What other systems are worth using, I have never used GPS on a bike, but hear mirraculous things about the latest systems being able to do pretty much everthing, except a cuppa tea (yet). This is including music, and I suspect intercom action as well.

How cumbersome are these systems to live with ?

I would like to have music of some sort on the move, be able to chat to Nicola, and am considering a GPS system for Europe and maybe even parts of the UK.

Any contribution, or pissstake will be appreciated.

Cheers, Rian.

I suggest you wait six months, by then you'll relish the periods of not being able to talk to each other... :hide

I think the Caberg Justissimo is a pretty good flip up helmet, (had one for over a year), but the Shoei Multitec is a lot better IMHO. Quality of latch mechanism Pinlock visor system swung it for me. Wasn't sure about the "D" lock fastening system but am told it's better.

Haven't used bluetooth in it yet but the recesses are there for the speakers.

Got one, it's OK but chin clearance is minimal. Not that I'm a Jay Lenno lookalike....:nenau
Bought it as a "winter" helmet but my acute sinuses put paid to that idea. :thedummy

Make sure you try one on first, dont buy mail order. I wanted an inexpensive flip front for a european trip on a hire bike and tried the justissimo. Found my chin touching the front of it and again dont consider myself to be a Jimmy Hill.
Tried on the cheaper Caberg Trip and found it had more clearance . (Dont think it takes the bluetooth insert) The drop down sunglasses are superb in Italy in the summer. Loads of tunnels, but very sunny. Couldnt have got by with my Arai and a black visor in some of the really long tunnels.
