Schuberth C3 and Caberg Justissimo GT - comparison?

Has anyone here gone from this Caberg to the C3?

I need a direct comparison with special ref. to the noise levels please.

I have the Caberg and at the moment with work im doing 1000 miles a week and my ears are starting to 'ring'. I have looked into ear plugs and intend to wear these with the schuberth as i do with the caberg.

Are they really quieter?

Also, im concerned about the quality and some reports about them as ive never had a problem with any of my 3-times-cheaper cabergs.

Can anyone help please?

Yes - I have the Justissimo and Schuberth C3

The C3 is a lot quieter; I found myself actually riding faster when wearing the C3 - I always wear ear plugs.

The quality of the C3 is far superior and the ventilation much much better in hot weather.
 
I mistakenly bought a Justissimo GT and compared to every other helmet I've owned it is poo by comparison. I know the Concept 1 was awful for noise and weight, the C2 was better at both but the C3 leaves them all dead in the water.

Although I understand that at 'retail' prices the BMW System 6 is cheaper than the C3 for essentially the same lid.

My main helmets now are both Schuberth's an S1 and a C3. I wouldn't loan the Justissimo to someone I didn't like - awful thing :nono

Noisy, crap sun visor, horribly flexi and creaky - just nasty.

All of the above is IMNSHO :blagblah

I don't have helmet speakers in mine just the part 2091 loom and boom mike, and I have no probs with either of them.

GSRich was quite happy to fit the speakers in one for us at the Excel show but neither of us wanted to sully our helmets with clutter like that :P

Serious answer, Rich said it was pretty straightforward enough :thumb
 
Ive fitted many C3's and do have any issues with the fitting of them. They have got plenty of room for the speakers as they have got oval indents in the main skull part of the helmet. They are one of the most easiest flip front Schuberths to fit to date.

The S1's are like an Arai to fit so if you look at any of our main instructions you will find a fitting guide for them.

Avoid the Caberg flip as very very noisy. Wind gets trapped in the side joins where hinge is located. I have a BMW system 3 made by Shuberth which is much quieter. I still use the Caberg for short runs as it's lighter and more comfy, but go for the Shuberth as it's worth the extra.
 
I only know the C3, and it's the first and probably last Schuberth I'll buy - mine is leaking, not just drops of water, but more like a flood, yes I know I can get it ajusted (and will have it done), but for the price one should expect more (hummm what was it about BMW's...).

I've tried the System6, and it have the things I fell the C3 is lacking (can't say anything about the leaking), like visor which will actually stay open when I'm doing more than 50mi/h- now I just have to wait for the System6 to come in white...

I bought a C3 and am very disappointed. Quality is poor, the visor leaks, and closes by itself above 40, the outer finish is cheap & scratches/marks easily, and in all i'd have felt badly done by had i spent £200, rather than the £350 i did pay at Hein Gerricke. I don't think its any quieter than my Arai's either.
Avoid like the plague
 
caberg with bluetooth

As someone with a Caberg Justissimo GT with a bluetooth fitted, I would not recommend it to my worst enemy.
Once the practically useless bluetooth is fitted, the side cheeks keep falling out because of rerouting of chin straps.
Try something else.

I use a Caberg Justissmo GT fitted with bluetooth http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=149716and its fine, none of the bits have fallen off, the bluetooth is brilliant streaming stereo music from my phone and receiving calls while I'm on the move. I'm thinking of getting an openface helmet with bluetooth (probably a Downtown S) for my delivery round because I spend most of the time with the front flipped up so I can see where I'm putting my feet when I'm off the bike and it will be a bit friendlier to customers. I had a Schuberth before and I much prefer the Caberg.The only tricky thing to remember is that when using a GPS you must delete the pairing between phone and headset first before pairing with the GPS.

I've got a C2 and a Caberg that work 'kindly' gave me, worn the Caberg once, comparing them is like comparing the GS and the Tiger, different leagues. Headshapes have alot to do with it but the Caberg is just too noisy and uncomfortable for my odd shaped head :(
 
I have owned a C3 since December 2008 - purhased at NEC bike show with a significant discount from the RRP. However, whilst I like the helmet overall, I do not think it is worth the money. As noted in earlier posts, the bloody visor auto closing over 35mph is very annoying, and there is water ingress in medium to heavy rain via the top/sides of visor even when fully closed.

Apparently, Schuberth have identified a manufacturing issue with the visor related to the mounting resulting in the auto closure issue - something to do with the tolerances on a machine not being correct or something, and the replacement visors from now "should" correct this feature.

I am currently awaiting said replacement visor from Oxford Products (UK distributor for Schuberth) for this problem - not bad given I have been chasing this since circa Jan/Feb 2009. :augie To be clear, Oxford Products have been responsive, but I feel Schuberth have not (totally blanking my attempts to email them directly for example).

To close, I would not buy Schuberth again....
