Talking to a beemer rider the other day who had been given a new BMW helmet to try out which was effectively an open top ! It was open face only, but with two large panels in the top that were covered by a metal grille, rather than a conventional shell, a further panel low down at the rear was similar. The two top panels had close fitting clear plastic 'covers' for rainy days. About 60% of the conventional shell was missing. With the plastic removed you could see your hand through the top of the helmet :nenau Has anyone seen or used one ?

Thats the johnny ! have you tried one ?

i was looking for a 'cool' helmet for the summers over here - a full face is way too hot for riding in.

I bought a caberg 'downtown' dual visor open face - and removed the clear visor and kept the dark slide down fighter style visor - £69 from infinity farnboro' - does the job perfectly :thumb

I'm sure the BM one would do the job too though.

I have - the stealers were knocking them out for about £80.

God knows what they are supposed to fit. I have a system 4, and the fit on those (mesh tops) is obviously for a totally unrelated alien species.

Plus they hardly cover anything - not in the least reassuring to wear, even allowing for the shape.

On the plus side, there's nothing else like them on the market that I've seen, plus if you were bald, you could have a nice chip fryer head tan.
