Helmet advice

So I'm after a new flip helmet. I've narrowed it down to 2.
The HJC Rhpa 91.
The Shoei Neotec 3.

The HJC is a lot cheaper and not a whole lot of difference in terms of comfort etc to the Shoei according to the tinder net

I Have read and watched all the videos bumf etc but would like some real world advice from the collective here who has /had either please.
Gonna pair a Cardo intergrated with my choice.
The Cardo HJC 4X or the
Cardo packtalk -S for the Shoei
Any feed back on these would also be appreciated.
PS if any one has one of the above helmets for sale let me know.
I'm going to the bike shop to put my fat head and 3 chins into both of these helmets to see what size and what feels good anyway

I have the Neotec 3 custom fitted by Motolegends at no costs. Have the mesh comms and am very happy with all. But then Shoei fits my noggin very well and am not prepared to skimp on a lid.....

G-Mac Glide Evo flip lid, low cost but high quality helmet, yes I have had Shoei and Arai, both great lids, but high on price. They say you get what you pay for, but with helmets, everyone has an opinion on lids.

Best to try a few on, myself I know as soon as lid is over my head if I like it or not, as for noise values, anything doing 60+mph will cause noise, good quality earplugs, sorts that out!

Have a Neotec 3 and it’s excellent

I did have a HJC (full face) which was a pretty nice helmet, the only criticism I would have is that the inside material wore out a fair bit quicker than Shoeis do

after going through the helmet purchase rigmarole last year, my advice is not to have a final short list until you have tried them on.

my reference point was the current Neotec 2 but I was baulking at upgrading to a Neotec 3 due to the price. After trying on several makes I settled on a Nolan.

Same. I’ve a Neotec 3 with sena mesh, it over 5 years old so due a change maybe next year. I’ll get another one with pfs fitting at Motolegends.

Try both on. See which fits best. The Shoei can be custom fitted. See which visor mechanism you prefer. See which venting mechanisms you prefer. Seat belt or double D ring strap?

Both are fine helmets. For me, the Shoei edges it on every metric. My stepson prefers his HJC Rpha.

Shoeis are usually more expensive.
