Cafes, coffee stops and favourite greasy spoons in the East Midlands

Popped in here the other day - just sandwiches and cakes but I had a very nice Victoria Sponge and coffee.
Pre-covid when I was there last and owners probably changed a few times since then.

Popped in again the other day and spoke to the owner. She’s a farmer - the building has been rented out for years but she’s reclaimed it now.
It’s a bit small and just good for coffee and cake at the moment but she’s a beef farmer and has a catering van - she’s going to organise some bike nights over the summer with the van, burgers and slow roast brisket from her own herd.

it would be helpful if you named the place rather than having to scroll through 6 pages to track the sub thread

It’s called ‘The Shop’. It’s on the A631 in South Elkington which is just outside Louth - it’s signposted on the road.

Try the Pilots mess at Sywell aerodrome, I was there Saturday watching paying guests wing walking, usually something to see, even a Spitfire may be spotted.
Nice breakfast aswell.
