Calling All BMW Experts, Breaks 1150 comp 1200

How's about a little self-help.

Bike on main stand with the engine running, apply the rear brake, and then with the rear brake still applied try turning the front wheel by hand.

There is 2 problems with that, the main on being I don't have a GS yet, and I don't know the situation with the sett up of the breaking ECU, with regard to how it works at different speeds.

Ahh i've seen you in the local bike shop, now put the brochures back on the shelf and go home for your tea, we're closing.

Isnt there a dealer within driving range you could go for a test drive on one?:nenau

Even if your not going to buy one from them ... just dont say that.... :mmmm

Does anyone know for sure the situation with the 03 bmw r1150gs?

They told me in my local BMW garage that on some of the GS modles the back also opperates a precentage of force to the front

:blast Yes someone does know for sure.... Pukmeister told you way back in post 8 :augie

There are 2 types of integral braking, full and partial.

Part integral brakes will operate both front and rear circuits when using the HAND brake and only the rear when using the FOOT brake. The GS was only fitted with PARTIAL as there would be times when riders wanted just the rear brake, when riding off-road for example.

The other kind, fully integral, will operate BOTH front and rear circuits when EITHER brake lever is used. ( I think :nenau this was fitted to some RT and LT models)
