Looks like you had a lot of fun http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=138127

I was scanning the pics with an eagle eye as you do, and noticed you have a 'snorkel' fitted to the intake trumpets.
How well does it work, is your air filter still getting carped up, what about deep water, more pics please :thumb. whats it made from where does it route too :mmmm

Did you not read my sig?? I have no idea!?!?! :blast

Just kidding, I have a some info - the snorkel was fitted by the original owner RickA. A number of people have asked me about where to get one from... I really should get in touch with Rick. I think it is a vacuum cleaner tube :o In terms of how well it works - I leave attached all the time. It runs fine (plenty fast enough for me!), although I should try riding the same route without it attached to see if I can atcually notice any difference.

The pipe actually runs up over the frame and then points backwards down the left side of the tank under the grey panel. So it raises the intake but more importantly stops the splash/spray coming in. To be honest, I haven't checked the airfilter in some time, but I would be surprised if much crap is getting in.

The only pic I have at the moment is:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/jasemarkos/1152597968/" title="Engine Protection by jsmarkos, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1378/1152597968_65dd584669_o.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="Engine Protection" /></a>

I will try to get organised to take some more.

Hope that helps.

Doh! :blast

My sig used to say: All the gear... no idea!!

hoover pipe and a ring cut from moutain bike inner tube to act as rubber inter connector between the two bits seals it up a treat:thumb2

I would take a picture but have just dismantled it all again...:blast

That sounds fine.... But how deep would you wade? Have you checked if there are any air leaks by covering the end of the snorkel. Did the engine cut out, or did it draw air in at say the airbox. :rob

How far have you all gone? Are they true snorkels?:hide
Or just used for splash protection...
