M’off…. Brittany calling yet again…

Did you tell him you were going to take a photo of him and post it on the Internet?

😆
I’ve politely asked him to pose for me, in fact my exact words were (in fluent French natch) that “you must pose and pretend that I am not there.”
He, as you can see, has happily obliged and executed the pose perfectly. 😉

Well another great day was had today!

Up at just before 07:00, ablutions of the morning carried out, Captain made us a cup of tea, which I did sip onto whilst I had a change of clobber, then into the garage, move the bikes outside and I set off for the bakery brek run.
Got greeted by a rather pleasant looking young madam at the bakers:
My order of (in my terribly awful French):
2 x croissants
2 x gorgeous Pan u
Au Raison
1 x Tradi Grain Baguette (for tonight’s t’tea).
Grand total €6.20 S'il vous plaît she said. Tap (beeep) and go. Total turnaround probably under 10 minutes.

Got back to the house only to find captain sat at the table waiting :fnikefork

Scoffed the lot in record time and on the road by 08:30. A nice circular route today of circa 200 miles with D767 from Guingamp towards the junction with N164 near Guerledan, being the ultimate playground 😃 :augie

A couple of stops for coffee along the way, along with a gentle climb up to the Mont Saint-Michel (according to google maps) for a pleasant viewpoint.

Next stop Morlaix for a spot of lunch.
Upon entering the town, I spot this mural/graffiti, I loved it, Captain wall less than impressed,

The piece of art has multiple elements of the place in one… my least as it makes a rather dull prison like building look a bit more welcoming, especially upon entering the town.

IMG_6330.jpeg

We eventually arrive in central Morlaix, a couple of laps later we settled on this place for lunch

IMG_6316.jpeg

It is beautiful inside and out…

I’ve had an omelette (which was delicious) 👌🏻, with Mushrooms, fresh herbs (mainly parsley) & cheese, with a side of fresh lettuce tossed in olive oil and balsamic vinegar and a portion of fries.

IMG_6319.jpeg
Washed down with a pint of Grimbergen Blonde which then followed by an excellent choc pudding.

IMG_6324.jpeg

All together, €31.40 each. Good value that.

I rarely get pictures taken of me in various places of interest let alone astride my awesome Adventure (with a capital A) bike. So I asked Captain to do the good deed… he’s a bit crap at it 😝

IMG_6616.jpeg

Next stop was Guingamp, enroute I’ve been hit by a feck-off huge (Godzilla sized) bug straight onto my visor at 130km/ph, it was loud, and eventually what was left of the insect has largely obscured my left eye view.

In Guingamp we have stopped for another coffee and I have had a Coke.
Whilst we sat in Guingamp and enjoying our drinks, ve noticed this sign, that motorcycles over 125cm3 were not allowed entry into this road. Yet big cars and truck were perfectly ok to use it. Weird.

IMG_6333.jpeg

We soon trotted off to pick up some chocks for the girls, before we set off for a play on a D767. What a road?! 😍
We eventually have came to a section of bends, where towards me was traveling a fellow biker on what looked like a Triumph sports bike of some sort, from a fair few years back. Said rider has kicked up a fair sized stone off the road surface and launched it straight into my helmet, just above my left eyebrow. Now I thought that insect splattering across my visor was loud, this was like a gunshot in my ears. It also left the mark in my lid.

We got back at the house just before 17:00, I’ve beat Captain by a mere 30 seconds or so, as I took a parallel side road unbeknown to him. 😁
He blamed it on being stuck behind a van 😂.

Captain has settled in washing his bike before he chucked it into the garage, whilst I took the clobber off the washing line that Captain had put out to dry the night before.
Now I always thought that Captain has and certainly still can be childish, perhaps Thai does occur when he’s wearing g his special pants …

Clobber folded, it was time to pack my bags, seeing as this is our last night at the house and we hm shall be on our way home in the morning.

Bag packed I shower, help captain to put th bikes away and settle in on prepping some “veggie shite” for tonight’s t’tea, and also saving some provisions from being wasted for my lunch tomorrow, whilst Captain sorts out a decent G&T for us.

Dinner of Baguette sandwiches, drinks and chatter. What not to like?

IMG_6339.jpeg

It is 23:30 before we make a decision to head for our rooms and set allarm for 05:00am.

We must be in the road by 05:45. Captains ferry is at leaving at 08:00 (I might be wrong) and I have nigh in 500 miles to ride home via the Chunnel.

Good night.

More tomorrow.

Early start . Now in ferry queue

IMG_6343.jpeg

Should be home by 0915, unlike Ev who just had to use the tunnel as he had something like £30 in vouchers .😜

The thing is , my ferry goes to Guernsey, has 1 hour there then onwards to Poole , arriving at 1300 so he could have been home by 1500.
But instead, he’s doing a Roger and has a 500 mile ride tunnel and won’t be home till 2000 ish , via a 1730 ish tunnel crossing

Muppet .

This played on my Packtalk this morning .
Appropriate!!

Good little trip though .

Great weather and bone dry , except it’s raining in Guernsey for my 10 minute ride home , and Ev’s going to cop it too

Blooming early rise at 05:00, we on the roar at exactly 05:45 as planned. An hour later, I see Captain gone, and for the rest of the day, I am a Billy no mates.

IMG_6343.jpeg

He will soon be sat comfy aboard…

IMG_6417.jpeg

… waiting to get a soaking for last 5 minutes of the trip, once he is off the boat at St Peter Port . ☔😬
It has been dry the entire trip, but last few miles will be soggy.

IMG_6418.jpeg

Meanwhile, I am off to find me a coffee spot and some brek.

The local fishermen are just in with their catch, first customer waiting already patiently…

IMG_6422.jpeg

Followed by their regulars.

More later.

Weird. Jusq'à normally means "up to" or "until" so perhaps the sign is banning everything *under* 125cm3 ? Would make some sense then as that would ban all the teenagers on their mopeds etc.

Good write up tho - and that cafe in Guingamp looks wonderful.
