Well another great day was had today!
Up at just before 07:00, ablutions of the morning carried out, Captain made us a cup of tea, which I did sip onto whilst I had a change of clobber, then into the garage, move the bikes outside and I set off for the bakery brek run.
Got greeted by a rather pleasant looking young madam at the bakers:
My order of (in my terribly awful French):
2 x croissants
2 x gorgeous Pan u
Au Raison
1 x Tradi Grain Baguette (for tonight’s t’tea).
Grand total €6.20 S'il vous plaît she said. Tap (beeep) and go. Total turnaround probably under 10 minutes.
Got back to the house only to find captain sat at the table waiting
Scoffed the lot in record time and on the road by 08:30.
A nice circular route today of circa 200 miles with D767 from Guingamp towards the junction with N164 near Guerledan, being the ultimate playground
A couple of stops for coffee along the way, along with a gentle climb up to the
Mont Saint-Michel (according to google maps) for a pleasant viewpoint.
Next stop Morlaix for a spot of lunch.
Upon entering the town, I spot this mural/graffiti, I loved it, Captain wall less than impressed,
The piece of art has multiple elements of the place in one… my least as it makes a rather dull prison like building look a bit more welcoming, especially upon entering the town.
We eventually arrive in central Morlaix, a couple of laps later we settled on this place for lunch
It is beautiful inside and out…
I’ve had an omelette (which was delicious)

, with Mushrooms, fresh herbs (mainly parsley) & cheese, with a side of fresh lettuce tossed in olive oil and balsamic vinegar and a portion of fries.

Washed down with a pint of Grimbergen Blonde which then followed by an excellent choc pudding.
All together, €31.40 each. Good value that.
I rarely get pictures taken of me in various places of interest let alone astride my awesome Adventure (with a capital A) bike. So I asked Captain to do the good deed… he’s a bit crap at it
Next stop was Guingamp, enroute I’ve been hit by a feck-off huge (Godzilla sized) bug straight onto my visor at 130km/ph, it was loud, and eventually what was left of the insect has largely obscured my left eye view.
In Guingamp we have stopped for another coffee and I have had a Coke.
Whilst we sat in Guingamp and enjoying our drinks, ve noticed this sign, that motorcycles over 125cm3 were not allowed entry into this road. Yet big cars and truck were perfectly ok to use it. Weird.
We soon trotted off to pick up some chocks for the girls, before we set off for a play on a D767. What a road?!

We eventually have came to a section of bends, where towards me was traveling a fellow biker on what looked like a Triumph sports bike of some sort, from a fair few years back. Said rider has kicked up a fair sized stone off the road surface and launched it straight into my helmet, just above my left eyebrow. Now I thought that insect splattering across my visor was loud, this was like a gunshot in my ears. It also left the mark in my lid.
We got back at the house just before 17:00, I’ve beat Captain by a mere 30 seconds or so, as I took a parallel side road unbeknown to him.

He blamed it on being stuck behind a van

.
Captain has settled in washing his bike before he chucked it into the garage, whilst I took the clobber off the washing line that Captain had put out to dry the night before.
Now I always thought that Captain has and certainly still can be childish, perhaps Thai does occur when he’s wearing g his special pants …
To be continued …
