Mr Steptoe kind Sir,
bin a muckin about with the old R90s today and find the right hand carb slidder is stuck fast. I have loaded it with WD40 for about 4 hours but still stuck. Should i take a Cumberland spanner to it?

Try a VERY gentle tap with a mallet and a dowel... At least, that's what I did and it was OK on my old R100. Bon chance. :thumb

Thank you Sir, bike last used 17 years ago  tank is good i think he put some oil into it after draining the petrol out but forgot the carbs. Left hand carb neddle was stuck but did move with the WD40.
Lyn.

Stood for 17 years + Dellorto carbs = nightmare

Lots of blocked jets and internal carb passageways

Good luck ;)

If the problem is blockages (not stuck slider) then ......

Not tried this yet, but.....

I have heard that coke is the solvent for carbs. All that lacquor, etc, forms in the jets and passageways is dissolved. Remove complete carb, remove carb bowl, place in container and cover in coke overnight. Supposed to come out all bright and shining (externally as well as internally). Rinse, dry and re-fit, takes a few turns of the starter to pull the fuel through.

Anyone tried this?

Many thanks all, i have a 2 lt bootle of Coke ready for the weekend :D plus a can of carb cleaner just incase. Service kit arrived from motorworks the day after i ordered it :thumb The local Varta Battery agent has a battery in stock :clap just need to get fuel tap kits ( just incase ) and we should be ready to go. I'll let you all no what happens.
Lyn. PS: i bought new brake pipes for the front as well, as you do after 17 years stood alone. Steptoe sir, do you have brake pads in stock for the R90s?
