has anybody fitted a calsci screen to their GSA ( not a GS )???

Not me, but I have a tall version of the VStream Ztecnick screen arriving in the next day or so for my GSA and will post up my findings.

there should be no reason why you cannot fit this to the GSA. I would persist with getting an answer from Givi – I’m not surprised by their answer – non technical staff!

If you look at a GS screen there are two plastic pieces on each side of the screen – where the adjuster bolt goes through. The inside piece has some serrations on it to give the levels of adjustment (this bit is the same on the GSA). The outside piece clips through the screen to the inside bit, this bit is different on the GSA only because it goes through the screen and additionally the brace and is therefore longer. On the GSA this could either be cut (like some after market suppliers do – but makes fitting more messy) or buy the GS parts (left and right) for a bout £1.50 each).

If you look at realoem website you can even find the part numbers yourself.

So fitting to a GSA would be to ditch the brace and replace/cut the outside bushes, the two front screws are the same. If Givi do not use any of the OEM parts then there is no reason for it not fitting – the metal clock surround is the same part number from GS to GSA.

I looked at one of these on Givi site when they first came out. As Daventry is not too far from me I did threaten them with a visit to take look – only when I got there the stock had just gone out . From their pictures it looked big.

I wondered how big it really was in comparison to the original screen? I have tried a GSA screen (I have 2009 GS), that came off. I have two MRA screens – one of them similar design but smaller – jury still out. The problem I had was turbulence when the screen was set high. I never realised it was a problem until I noticed that motorway overhead signs were blurring. Lowering my screen is better than being higher.

Now that you have had yours for a while does your previous comment still stand?

the real beauty of this screen is that its just so easy to adjust , even on the move and the buffeting is almost non existant compared to the original.

Unless you are extremely vertically challenged you wont have a problem with obscured vision. I am 5' 10" and a very important half !! and I just drop the top screen down a little so the top falls below my eyeline.

the real beauty of this screen is that its just so easy to adjust , even on the move and the buffeting is almost non existant compared to the original.

perhaps someone else with a little more experience can confirm whether or not it will fit a gsa - aren't the screens transferrable between the two models as I have often heard that people fit an adventure screen to their gs so the reverse should be possible I'd have thought

Having seen blu-dubs GS parked next to Les Wassells GSA I'm sure the Givi screen would go on to the GSA although it might possibly foul the winglets. It looks like a good piece of kit, with the added advantage of being as visually challenged as the GS itself. IIRC the range of adjustment is from 44 to 56 centimetres in height so even I at 6'6" might take shelter behind one. Many thanks to Les and blu-dub for the chance to see one for real rather than in a shop window.

I've covered 2000 miles now since i got the bike in November, this screen was fitted almost straight away and I am more than happy with it. Wind protection is superb. The ability to move the top section means it will suit anyone I would have thought and come summer the top section can be removed altogether leaving a rather sporty looking screen. Have you checked out the photos I posted earlier in the thread?? i have had positive feedback from everyone thats seen it.

Just for info I went to My mates this last weekend up in newcastle, he's a tosser also and we swapped bikes in order for him to try out the sceen , he's now ordered one and all I can say is I hated the stock screen . The screen also performed well on the journey back across the A69 and the M6 over Penrith and Shap through driving snow. with the top set just below my eye level my visor remained totally clear even though the screen had a layer of ice an inch thick all over it !!! it was a very interesting journey I can tell you.

I only saw the lights in daylight but looking directly at them was a silly mistake. Photos will confirm their desirability.
