So, MikeF breaks his collarbone and can't accompany me on the Cambrian. Before this unfortunate turn of events he'd arranged to pick something up from Skygod, so at the last minute he asked me to pick it up for him. At the time he couldn't remember any more details like Skygod's name, description etc. but would eMail me.

Unfortunately we were staying up in the hills and I didn't get eMails or a phone signal all weekend.

So, not wanting to let Mike down I spend a bit of time trying to guess who Skygod might be using clues like HP2, live 'up North', stuff like that. Luckily I spotted Giles Lamb who added to the clues by saying he thought he had a moustache.

Great, so I wandered around between laps asking people if they could help me find a guy with a moustache called Skygod who could be riding a BMW. Strange looks doesn't really describe the reactions :augie

Found a guy called Dave on an HP2 who said he knew him (but not as Skygod) and thought he was in Morocco so I gave up then.

Found a message from Mike on the iPhone on Monday on the way home saying "don't bother, he's in Morocco...." :blast :D

Anyway, joking aside, it was a great weekend and sorry you couldn't make it Mike.

It's a great event, I seem to have dropped out of competing....next year maybe:beerjug:

What was the strata like - Bl**dy deep I would imagine.

Will be back competing next year.

I'll do a ride report over the next couple of days :D

Nice to meet you Dave .... :thumb2

Good to meet you too Giles:thumb2

From the look of the location of your 'cold' photo were you staying at the Drovers?

I was going to say - looks like he was at the drovers too. I put a review on trip advisor about rally bikers staying - realised that I should have kept it quiet as would need to book 6 months in advance now :blast

Weren't you there dave this time? Can't imagine you in a tent

We stayed in a cottage which worked well. First time in 5 or 6 years we haven't stayed at the Drovers. Camping wouldn't really have worked for us as 3 couples with the ladies going off walking during the day.

And I'll have you know I've been camping twice in the past year with GSers, once with Louise as well, and there are photos to prove it! Just one night at a time in the dry though :D

Yes! It was pretty comfortable and a stones throw from the pub :thumb2
