Any of you in the trade and know a bit about replacement batteries for cameras.

Original Equipment cost about £40-£50
Jessop version £28
7 Day shop no brand version £10

I am really tempted to buy the 7 day shop version. Will I get something that is really inferior to the Canon version?

My experience on mobile phone batteries have been that non or secondary brands are as good, as long as you buy a reputable secondary brand.

Any advice?

Funnily enough, between responding to a pint6x character assassination attempt this afternoon, I bought a battery for my Canon camera from eBay.

£6.99 delivered to my door.

Even if it only lasts half as long as the Canon-branded battery, it's still a good buy. Besides, seven quid isn't going to break the bank, is it?

I may have been unlucky but...
I bought a spare (rechargeable) battery for my Fuji 6900Z and bought a Hahnel equivalent of the NP-80... turned out to be a bad move and it never held a charge for very long compared to the original Fuji branded one. I went back and got a replacement but that hasn't been much better... the original Fuji is still going strong. I need to get a spare and this time I'll pay the higher price and get a Fuji unless someone has better recommendation than the Hahnel.

My Fuji charger packed up last month after only 4 years constant use ! :D

Replaced with a sony CycleEnergy Ni-Mh AA /AAA charger with 4 x AA typ .2300mAh batteries.
Purchased from P C World for about £45 (sales staff didn’t have a clue) I could have got one on offer for £19..99 but I hate it when I'm out on the bike and the batteries die, the cheaper one had a lower rating.
So far I’m delighted, I can be out for 2 days and the charge still holds.
