i've managed to find out what the six words under the pastis 51 logo say so now my sticker man can do then to 100% authentic reproduction.
it says " sachez apprecier et consommer avec moderation" which is i think how we sould approch all the best things in life

I can't speak french, let alone read it, so I thought I'd do a google translate and this is what it came up with.

Individually the words read:

Sachez - Apprecier - et - Consommer - avec - Moderation =
know - Appreciate - and - Consume - with - Moderation

However if you put in the frase as a whole it reads:

Drink with moderation


I wonder which way they meant us to understand it???

owwww, looks like brand spanking new.

well the boys at the shot blasters have done a stunning job and the engine now looks like a brand new one, as does the gearbox and other bits. me's a very happy bunny. £80 all in and a bargain to boot. If you want blasting doing have a chat with Quality Blasting in Lye near stourbridge, great bunch of blokes who treat yer stuff with respect. here's the pics.

other bit of news.

Guy in the states has just contacted me to say he can build the shocks i need to the exact spec with all the right bits. Not cheap but he's the only bloke i've found who can do the exact right ally webbed tops as per the originals. Ohlins stopped supplying the webbed tops in 2005 when their stock ran out and now they are rarer than rocking horse doodoo. anyway i've ordered a set and they should be here within the month i've even been able to spec the gold top spring

Well bugger me

I've just popped into the loft of my garage to see if I could find something and I found a couple of boxes I got when I bought camille. I'd forgotten I even had them. Well I've found the original headlight bracket, front and rear mudguard and handlebar mounts amongst a stack of other odds n ends including a spare drive shaft totally gobsmacked ph and I've found the original exhaust endcans. They need a fair amount of rework to get them back to spec but wow it feels like I've won the lotto. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

I think if you fit the engine,gearbox and bevel drive without splitting them after blasting you're very brave, stripped an engine today that has been blasted and rebuilt but not cleaned properly...............pistons, barrels, ruined, big end shells marked, oil pump badly marked etc, etc. Good luck, I think the rest is excellent!

tanks back

after having the tank back from the blasters last week i sen it off to a mates to have him weld the small hairline crack along the rear r/h seam. well he's done a loverly job and today brought it back. i thought i'd pop it on and check how it looked with the seat in place i need to do a little work on the mounting as the seat is fowling the rear subframe a little as it sits a bit further back with this tank. the mounting holes line upto the originals but 2 mudguard tags had been added for the 85 style mudguard that are now in the way nowt that a hacksaw won't curethumb

its all a question of money dear boy. all these little things cost and as i'm not as rich as yow i've got to scrape it together bit by bit but if you fancy a couple of days in sunny shropshire i can keep you fed and watered
