Is what I'm off to do today. 3 weeks solo. How long the route takes and where I'll be staying is all a mystery.
Looking forward to this.

I often ride the Camino to get to Asturias from Valencia if I'm in a hurry to get there. I really love that route. Dunno what it is. The big sky country?, the long, at times sweepy, at times straight, always varied, N234? The ghost one-horse towns and villages that you creep by at 50kms/hr? The various Castles and crumbling towers belonging to a long gone age? The mountain ridges and Sorian forests? The almost complete lack of major traffic? Take your pick, because it's all there.

It's "old Castillian Spain" at it's very best and largely unspoiled.

I loved the whole thing. Amazing scenery and really old towns. Lots of places that few tourists see.

I'll do it again.

From Burgos I always ride the N623 up towards Santander. It's longer in distance (for me) to get to my house, but it's a really nice icing on the cake. The road is a little "smudgy" in places, but quiet and bendy in all the right places.

I tend to eschew the N627, but I may ride it this year because I can see that both the N627 and N611 parallel toll-free dual carriageways so they are likely to be almost empty good roads.
