camp sites ???

Hi all, I'v been reading this site for about a year now, plenty of good info cheers for that, but I seem to have a problem with BMW navigator II, it does not seem to find any camp sites, in England, france, etc, does anybody know how to overcome this. any advice would be much appreciated.

Get every one to post up the Coords of their fav campsites and setup a web site...

I mean Campsite...

Thank you for the advice, unfortunately I haven't a clue about how to set up a web site!!!
Can only just get by with sending a message such as this, I'm dissapointed in the fact that I have shelled my money out on something that cannot even tell me where camp-sites are, so I suppose it's back to bloody maps
Any other suggestions would be gratefully received.
PS It's not my nose that's the problem it's what I don't nose!!

Just tried to find a local campsite on my Mapsource, nothing!

I know it's there!

Tried a wider search, again no campsites!

Are you trying on Mapsource too or on your Nav II itself?

My understanding is that that none of the MapSource mapping products include POI for campsites.
This has been raised before.

Maybe if a number of people provide feedback to Garmin that this info is required then they will include it in a future release.

Surely, there must be a book available that gives co-ordinates for camp sites in the UK, France etc. I know it's frustrating that the GPS can't find the site for you, but if you choose a campsite and enter the co-ordinates etc, at least you can then let the unit direct you there.

Strange really that campsites are not listed in the Point Of Interests - especially when you bear in mind some of the obscure things that you can look for.

I was quite surprised to see that campsites weren't listed - especially as they are on the USA City Navigator...

Thank you for the replies, I've tried finding the camp-sites on map source and my GPS, but they are not there. I have telephoned Garmin, they have informed me that there are no camp sites listed on the UK version, and there will not be any in the forseeable future (GREAT). Does anyone know of a GPS that does list camp-sites?
I will be grateful for your suggestions.

Suggest you take a quick at gps4touring.com as they detail camp sites and Gites etc in France with a site profile, contacts details and is both informative and has a gps reference.

I've just visited www.tourspain.co.uk the Spanish Tourist Office website and ordered the Camping Map of Spain and another booklet on Camping in Spain. These are free.

If they list the campsites, I'll put the locations into my Nav II.

Another website is www.red2000.com All About Spain. There is a link to camping in Spain. Not a very comprehensive list of campsites and only one has a web page but they list post codes for possibly putting into the Nav.
