Camping Food!

A perennial favourite for me is four can or harbour stew, 1 can stewing steak, 1 tin new potatoes, 1 tin peas/carrots/sweetcorn/mixed veg and half an onion. 1 stock cube, bit of Garlic if you like
Cut up onion, into pan with a little water, cook until it softens a little, crumble stock cube in, add the rest of the ingredients (drain the water off the veggies), heat and eat, mop up the gravy with some bread, ready in minutes, sticks to the ribs a treat, add extra cans of whatever to extend for guests waifs and strays. Can be eaten with a screwdriver :thumb2

Another one that is lighter to pack and always goes well is survival pasta surprise.
Pack of ready pasta with cheese sauce (usually 5 minute simmer)
Can of peas and sweetcorn mix
Can of Tuna.
Preparation
prepare the pasta according to instructions on the pack, sometimes milk/water mix is used, whilst that is simmering open and drain your Tuna and Veggies.
At the appropriate time lob the Tuna and Veggies into the pasta, mix up a bit, allow to heat for a couple of minutes, serve and eat, can also be eaten with a screwdriver

I like to carry real cheese, crackers and fruit, muesli bars, canned spam fries up a treat if away from bacon as does those cans of Bacon grill :thumb2 If carrying real bacon then try the smoked stuff, it keeps longer without refrigeration :thumb
Stewart

Tins of 'Heinz Breakfast' (beanz, sossie and eggy) are good for those mornings when you're too pissed or it's too rough to be doing a full fry-up.

Pasties. Although having stopped by Bakermans, meat pies too.

Brilliant :D

My fav is a chilli, prepared frozen week before so it gets all the flavour, take it day you leave will happily be defrosted by the time you set up camp, or will do for a couple days before you eat

Make the chilli with cubes of beef not mince, it tastes a lot better.

Same here - cooked up a large batch a couple of weeks ago. It's all in containers in the freezer to last me the season! :D

take herb and spices to make the meals interesting:thumb2

Nah - Encona Hot Pepper Sauce - it makes everything taste the same - hot :thumb

I like toast and it keeps Skye occupied making it :thumb

Often take some BBQ coals and some Bacon (or square sausage) with us for some luvvly BBQ rolls.

Porridge is another favourite of ours for a cold morning.

as a beverage.......

one cup of boiling water,
3 - 5 fresh new leaves (maybe an 1"-2" long) from the top of a nettle plant (away from the usual dog area - human and canine),
put in water and infuse for 3-4 minutes - then drink, leaves in or out.

The best cup ever next to some single malts or real ales!!! :rob
