A perennial favourite for me is four can or harbour stew, 1 can stewing steak, 1 tin new potatoes, 1 tin peas/carrots/sweetcorn/mixed veg and half an onion. 1 stock cube, bit of Garlic if you like
Cut up onion, into pan with a little water, cook until it softens a little, crumble stock cube in, add the rest of the ingredients (drain the water off the veggies), heat and eat, mop up the gravy with some bread, ready in minutes, sticks to the ribs a treat, add extra cans of whatever to extend for guests waifs and strays. Can be eaten with a screwdriver
Another one that is lighter to pack and always goes well is survival pasta surprise.
Pack of ready pasta with cheese sauce (usually 5 minute simmer)
Can of peas and sweetcorn mix
Can of Tuna.
Preparation
prepare the pasta according to instructions on the pack, sometimes milk/water mix is used, whilst that is simmering open and drain your Tuna and Veggies.
At the appropriate time lob the Tuna and Veggies into the pasta, mix up a bit, allow to heat for a couple of minutes, serve and eat, can also be eaten with a screwdriver
I like to carry real cheese, crackers and fruit, muesli bars, canned spam fries up a treat if away from bacon as does those cans of Bacon grill

If carrying real bacon then try the smoked stuff, it keeps longer without refrigeration
