Can a brake rotor be straightened?

Put the disc lock just under the caliper so the bike can't move at all until it's removed.

in the dry - yes.
in heavy rain, the cast iron discs on my Guzzi can have an almost 2 second delay as the water/rusty slime (?) clears off before actually working!
It was the other way round on my '82 RS; a lag of a second or two with the original stainless steel discs, but no delay at all with the replacemnt cast discs. They also stopped far better as well, wet or dry. :nenau

The light coating of rust gets swept off within a few turns of the wheels, it doesn't bother me in the least. I think I got mine from MotoBins.

this is what I do, plus use a Xena disk lock with an alarm

thats a good idea, wish i had thought of doing that earlier :) i have an alarmed lock, but the pin is too thick to go through the drilled grooves in the mono disc. was considering a throttle/brake lock (croclock) if i went cast, cant be much less secure than a little disc lock surely.

Thought I had sourced a suitable replacement, but it didn't work out. If anyone has one or knows where I could get one without getting royally shafted by motorworks, please let me know. (motorworks prices in general I have found to be reasonable enough, but £95 for a single used rotor? come on)

Who would have thought getting good used parts for a 28 year old bike would be so difficult :D

I notice you're from Fife.

Fife is part of Scotland

Scotland is part of Great Britain (or the United Kingdom if you prefer)

In our country......

IT'S A BRAKE DISC - NOT A FUCKING ROTOR

THE SAME AS IT'S A MUDGUARD - NOT A F****ING FENDER.....!!!!

But I would like to take this opportunity to say that I do hope you manage to get "it" repaired to your satisfaction at reasonable cost :D :D
