Can a Harley be pretty?

That's her, that's the bird who suggested she rivet my scrotum to a table and burn baby burn.. I soon told her where to go...

"Just off the Robin hood roundabout, 'ang a left and bang on the garage doors babe'

Was that it?

:D

Lured by svelte curves together with chunky manliness, took a couple of test rides today.
883 Iron, 300 miles old and quicker than I expected even being gentle with such a new bike. Loved the engine, vibes at rest but got smoother once moving, gearbox clunky but precise. Generally a nice ride but dear oh dear who at HD lets them be sold with pegs in such a place you wear your knees for earrings? Was supposed to be out for an hour+ but bought it back in twenty minutes with cramp of the groin. Probably was the vibes :D

Got put on a 1200 forty eight next with 'forward controls'... Bliss. Engine hugely more powerful as you'd expect and with only 100 miles on the odo I expect it would improve yet. Brakes were better, handled nicer ( probably as a result of not concentrating on the pain from pegs too close for comfort) and looked damn cool  it not me. Really wanted to like it but the comfort, or lack of, put me off. Bars a smidge too much of a reach and a seat I continually tried to fall off the back of. Too small, tilted back, too slippy? Dunno, but it spoilt the ride. Was happy to give it back in the end.

Slightly disappointed, I tried sitting on all 'affordable' models and found a comfy perch on a XL1200 CA Custom. Straight bars on a riser made all the difference but it's still not far shy of £10k. Overall I want to like the brand but not sure I found the bike for me, at the mo.

There was a gaggle of HD riders there too, three hours later after the Demo rides they were still there clutching the same coffee cups and comparing Kent Chapter patches. Not sure I understand that, twice I've been to the showroom- once to book and once to ride. Saw four slightly 'odd' blokes there on both occasions. Does seem to attract a few social misfits

The owners are mostly wank stains...Very odd bunch in general, the patch clubs are even odder....In fact the whole Harley scene is fucked to be honest.....I give them a wide berth, all of them.
