The best I've had since the wires on my Ultimate Ears ones broke.....these are softish silicone rubber (i think) and are very comfortable.

They've lasted me 4 or 5 years but sadly, the wire to the red one is broken where it joins the moulding (constant use on bike) so if poss, I'd like to get another pair.

I have a feeling they were Green Leopard, but the GL website is so awful I cant find them there, nor have I been able to spot them in a long trawl through many pages of google image searches :blast

I've tried many other sorts over the years, but these were the mutt's nuts, so if anyone can identify the make, I'd appreciate it :thumb

Give judge a shout. Even if they're not Ultimate's he may be able to get them repaired for you which would be cheaper than seeking out a new pair....maybe...;)

Why can't you remember who you bought them from, its not like a tin of fekkin beans from the any corner shop is it, or that you've bought hundreds of sets of monitors in the last 10 years? :nenau :blast :blast

I know they're not ours obviously :D

I know they're not Micky's or Fil's. If they are Green Leopards it will be their lab produced gear as otherwise they'd look a lot like Micky's or Fil's. :D

They're not Coolcarbon's either (on account he was ex-Green Leopard too and they'd look like Micky's or Fil's) :D

The incredibly ropey finish, in-ear configuration and extremely short meatus detail suggests Custom Ear Protection but Antone doesn't manufacture any more due to problems he had making them, he might be up for repairing them though?

Who didn't make them?

ACS, Minerva, Hearwave, Headset Services (they don't make they sell ACS). Eyri, Specsavers

So who else's could they be?

Plugzz, Health Screen, Puretone, Sensorcom or maybe someone else entirely :nenau

Take your pick, happy to help :thumb2

Thanks for the recommendation Mike but I don't think we'll be trusted with them.

You could always have a go at doing them yourself Bill, Leatherman, playdough, dremmel, solder, steam iron, pressure pot, mastic sealant, that's right up your street that is :augie

OOoo :blast

If Ultimate Ears have sorted out the problems they used to have (and now they're owned by Logitech, they may have) I'd be quite happy to have some......I had hoped to get a pair of GLs sorted out through Micky at Jamie's send off, but couldn't make it up there.

There aren't £200 custom jobbies, they are off the shelf 'one fits all' types, but they just happened to fit me particularly well.

I had actually planned on a bit of DIY on a new pair if I could find them as well...I reckon using that SUGRU stuff that was posted about here the other day, a good smearing of vaseline and a semi-custom moulding of the ear lobe area would allow me to modify these fairly safely so that the wire was held in the silicone at 90 degrees pointing downwards to avoid future problems.

I will look at the brands you mentioned though, thanks :)

You've never owned Ultimateears, they are an American company as you rightly state now owned by Logitech.

Ultimate Hearing Protection Systems who you did buy from remain a wholly owned UK company.

Micky's an independant label these days, GL pretty much done with the domestic market now and all the franchisees realised they could get a better deal going direct to the US supplier.

Ah, all those companies are custom companies although someone might repair them its unlikely anyone of them would have sold them to you.

That's the spirit and the Bill we all love :clap

You're welcome

Ah, yes...

Good news! :) I can identify them. You got them from me just before going to Morocco

Bad news! :( They were Green Leopard prototypes which sadly never made it into production

I no longer have any means of attempting a repair and never got involved with fixing the electronic stuff anyway.

DIY sounds like the way forward unless anyone is brave enough to volunteer to do it for you! Even if you do balls it up you've probably had your money's worth out of them by now :augie :D

Indeed :thumb2

Thanks Fil, I was pretty sure they'd come from your direction but I still have fuzzy recollection from that period :(

Shame they never made it into production......they are far far better than any off the shelf in ear speakers i've tried and would have made a good half-way point between those and full-on custom moulded jobbies IMO :thumb2

Anyone seen the playdough ? :blast
