I'm looking to get hold of a pair of decent quality riding pants. (Have a BM Rallye jacket - but just don't fancy the 'combined look' with their pants). Ventilation and waterproofing are important requirements, together with some protection .... warmth is not so critical,as need them for warm weather touring.

Any recommedations / suggestions would be much appreciated.

Happy Christmas one & all

Pants? Mark + Spencers for me. :thumb

Now if you mean riding trousers, sorry I can't help you there as I use a one-piece Aerostitch. ;)

Might I suggest that, Sir, would find these excellent as riding pants?

Riding trousers

I've had apair of black Rukka trousers for possibly about 8years at least, they
have been great. They now get bit damp around the crotch / seat area in heavy rain but it's mainly the gortex lining gets wet and feels cold very good.
Only bad point is they've only got one ionside pocket which is a pain to access apert from this been good. Look out at shows for "end of line bargins
got a jacket for £249.00 at the NEC old model. Infinity motorcycles are dealers.
Happy christmas keep a dry bum.

Loads of different motorcycling trousers about.

Hein Gericke
Dainese
Rucka
Alpine Star

to name but four.

Reasonably spread of prices and cuts between the lot. You will srruggle to find 'summer' trousers at the moment but you could get lucky in bin-end sales, paricularly if you are an odd size.

Leather gives the best protection but you will need a pair of over-trousers.

Get a copy of the mag that does all the tests, I think it's called Ride. They will probably have a review of about 20 pairs.

Thanks for that Wapping....might get lucky in the bin-end sales then.... I'm a slim 32' waist / 30" leg....I'll follow up on your leads via Google. Have a good one... however you opt to spend it.

riding

i prefer to do most of my riding without pants, but then it depends how much of a panic you are in to get him out !!!!! in that case a pair of loose fitting boxers work not so bad.

This year I bought a pair of BMW Summer trousers (the ones with the zip-off legs).

They're not water-proof but are ok in light rain, with a pair of light-weight over-suit trousers they can cope with heavy rain.

They come with knee armour and you can add the BMW hip-protect pads (from your other trousers if you already have them).

They're machine washable, don't look like motorcycle trousers when off the bike or turned into shorts and will zip to your Rallye jacket.

About £100 with discount. Available in black or beige.

yep ive bought just the ones

the pants your looking for are arlen ness ones from J and S in northwitch they have armour but are guaranteed to be 100 percent waterproof and are really like the rallye2 pants thin and really comfy but better than that they are 135 a pair and go for a haggle i did and it worked a treat:D

Best pants?

Easy, no reservations, no doubts, no arguments...

BMW Atlantis 3 :thumb

The best value for money ever! Did 200,000 miles in mi last pair and their still going strong! Been down the road on track days, never even marked them. Rode through the desert, kneeled in the sand and on concrete to work on the bike's. Rode through the wastes of Siberia...

They're comfortable, 95% waterproof (100% with the liners in) they're expensive, but they're worth every penny :D :D
