Just this evening I've been moving my 800 around with the right pannier filled with books (don't ask) and the left one empty. I didn't really notice any difference in standing the bike up off the side stand.

Don't worry about the reference to moaning, that's wapping's initiation for new boys who obviously know nothing because they have a low post count, whereas he's got a high post count and is a moderator who can say whatever he likes. Just ignore it/him. Sadly, you can't actually put him on 'ignore' because he's a moderator, so if you haven't been put off by his nauseating attitude to anyone new (and actually intend to post again in future) then just don't bother reading anything that he says. Works for me.

Re shorties...not sure if you can get Ride magazine down under, but there's a few mildly interesting letters in it this month's issue about this very subject.

Actually, thats wrong on most counts.

MOST of what our travel wary Wapping says is true or hits home.

Just think logically as a normal person trying to overcome an everyday obstacle and it all becomes clear. - thats what he is implying.

Read it as you see it though, thats all.

I'm just surprised that he felt the need to respond really. As it's not fekkin rocket science.

Personally, I wouldn't have bothered.

In fact, most of your posts are just moaning about stuff that the dealers are trying to resolve.

Sit back relax and just try and percieve what this place is all about.
