Can the R1150GS top box fit the R1150GS Adv?

Hi all, hope you can help.

I have an R1150GS Adv. with the black system panniers. I also have access to a standard R1150GS 35 litre BMW top box. I would like to fit this top box to my Adv.

Question. Having never used a top box before I am unsure whether I can buy a fixing plate/adapter to do this. Does anyone?

Your kind help/advice is appreciated.

If you still have the adaptor plate thing which attaches to the rack, you can have the base of it ground flat then bolt it to the adventure rack. You have to drill a couple of holes in it to match the Adv rack.
I swapped my plate with someone who had already done this. It doesnt look as rigid, but its been on for a couple of years, it has travelled the continent with a fully loaded box and a wife using the box as a backrest, so it works.
