Is it possible to use the usb-port on the back to charge other equipment (mobile and such), with the NAV5? (the nav5 being in the cradle, getting power from the bike)

It's a mini USB socket on the back isnt it? Therefore there will be no output, surely?

Can you actually access the mini-usb socket on the back of a Nav V when it is in the cradle?

It's a 'mini b' on the zumo 660, hidden behind the waterproof battery door. B ports can't sink current, only 'a' ports in the old USB world. Get an external battery pack for whatever you need to also charge, or wire in an 'a' port on the bike.

I just connected my phone to the usb socket in the r/h glove box. It charges with the ignition on.
That's a relief! I was relying on that but had never tried it.

as far as I'm aware the mini USB is an input only for charging the Nav itself

Which, whilst a great relief to you, does nothing whatsoever to answer our Norwegian friend's question, which was:

No mention of your bike's glove box USB in ugly43's plea for assistance. He'll maybe find it useful though, should he ever pass by your house.

Yes you're right - bugger!!
However as the question is wrong.... As Ugly43 says, he doesn't have one, so he has no way of knowing that the micro usb socket at the back of th Nav 5 is not accessable when it is in its mount/holder.
Before I got the current bike I used to use the bike aux power (din?) socket and a lead to a car cigar lighter fitted with a usb socket to charge phones, cameras etc.
Hope that helps.
