Done a search but can't find the answer !
My 2012 twincam came with a genuine BMW canbus charger, which worked fine initially.
But now, when I plug it into the power socket under the seat, the red error LED lights on the charger.
The battery is in good condition.
Any ideas ?

Might be kaput, my BMW one packed up a few years old, same problem. Did a lot of asking about but couldn't get any way of sorting it and had to bin it. Use the Optimate now.

I switched on the ignition to power up the aux socket, then plugged in & powered up the battery charger.
After switching the ignition off & allowing 60 secs for the socket to power down, I've got an amber "10" light on the charger & no error light.
I'll see whether the lights change after an hour or two.

I use an Optimate 4 through the auxiliary socket. When I first tried to use it there was an audible click from the relay in the Fuzeblock triggered from the socket. I'm now looking for somewhere else (preferably the dipped headlight) to trigger the Fuzeblock.

Connect trigger wire to the tail light.

Wire a suitable +/- plug directly to the battery and leave under the seat. To charge the battery plug the charger directly into the new charging connector. No Canbus to give confusing information and you know the the charger is properly connected.

Putting any sort of additional software malarkey in the way (CanBus along with the compatible charger gubbins) is just asking for trouble when it's so easy to avoid it all.
