My bike was briefly stolen a few weeks ago but recovered shortly after with the only damage being the removal of the connectors for the ignition and ring antenna from the wiring loom.
It took BMW two and a half weeks to get a replacement connector.
Now I'm told that the BMSKP (if I'm not mistaken) has blown, presumably as a result of the hot-wiring attempt, at a cost of €612.
Q. Should the canbus system have operated in place of a fuse and prevented the short blowing this component?
