Cannes in 2 1/2 Days

I would like to pop down to Cannes later this month. I need to get there in around two days and not bore my passenger to death. Is this feasible? Any recomandations for a one night stop over. I shall be travelling from Calais.

Or can any one recomend another nice place to go swimming on the Southern French coast.

Put Calais to Cannes into Google maps, excluding highways and tolls. You'll see that it takes you down the ever popular (awesome) Route Napoleon. Job done.

Two and a half days? No problem. Where to stop? Halfway would seem sensible. Try Dijon.

Nice places to go swimming? It's the seaside, take your pick. Some of the coastline is rocky, some has sandy beaches.

Theoule Sur Mer has some fabulous rocky coves; park for free(was in 2005), walk down and enjoy a splash
Much nicer than the wide expanses of the Cannes sandy beaches IMMHO

If you end up in Cannes eat at "BRUNS" near the Harbour it is a dedicated fish restaurant booking essential, expensive yes worth it yes.

Why do you bother Richard? You were harsher to me in the past and I only stopped to change gloves!!
