Thought I'd just post about my recent experience of Cannons:

As per my post about my 45000 mile 1150 GS decideing not to start, my old girl ended up being collected by Cannons on tuesday afternoon after extensive time spent trying to sort it myself.

Now.. It wasn't cheap..(I stumped up for a full 4 year service while she was there).

New hall sensor - why she didn't start - it completly failed with no warning!
New abs sensors - abs system had died at the same time as the hall sensor... no idea why!
Replacement of brake pads all round
Flush brake system and bleed
Full 4 year service
fuel filter etc in service..

I have been really impressed with the professionalism, helpfullness and speed at which cannons sorted out the bike... and of course the shiney valeted condition the muddy old girl was in when I got her back!

Riding her the 15 miles home was a joy... she sings perfectly again... infact she's better than when I first got her last year!

So.. moral of the story... Cannons may not be the cheapest in the world... but they did a fantastic job!

Special thanks to Lee at cannons for keeping me in the picture, and only charging me a minimal fee for the time spent diagnosing and fixing the original fault!

Its always nice when things turn out well, takes quite a bit out of the sting of paying :D

My 1100GS has just done exactly the same thing, I gave the bike a good clean then then it would not start, so I changed the plugs and it started but would only idle for 15 seconds or so, as soon as you try to rev it the engine dies, I've removed the Hall sensor and there is a patch missing on the top sensor.
Out of interest, how much did Cannons charge for the sensor ?

Thanks
Peter

I think the sensor came in at about 150... plus fitting..

But I know that motorworks do the same one for about 130... So if your fitting it yourself they would be the people to speak to!

:d good luck!

Service at Cannon's

That time of year again! Took 12GSA in for annual service on Saturday, got in at 10 to 9, £80, several cups of tea & 90 minutes later was heading home.

Many thanks to Lee for a fast and very professional service, and to Tony, who has probably sold me on the idea of buying a new 12GSA.

Cheers again, Brian.:bounce1
