cans,tyres,luggage?

Could do with some help on which can to get. Seen loads of GS with Remus which seem to sound pretty good but what about Laser and the others? Also any one got the can and the chip and if so what difference will the can make on its own and is the chip really worth all that dosh? Tyres, got Bridgestone trail wings on that will need replacing soon what is the best allround tyre to go for 95% road and a little light offroad? Must wear well as I do a lot of miles. On the luggage front what is better than the black BM panniers which I have. Like the Bm ally boxes but cost is a joke. Is there a choice of top boxes to go for Bm and other makes as I like the idea of having just a top box most of the time.

H&B Gobi panniers look the dogs. Alu kinda styling without the expense. If you are interested in raising some of the funds I'm after a set of system panniers and rails.

(Would dearly love a set of Gobi luggage but SWMBO would pack me off to the garage for good!)

Panniers + Exhausts + Tyres

If you've got the small lids, then a really cost effective mod is to get the "global lids" for about 140 which adds 6 litres a side. Makes the back end wider, but you don't look like a pizza delivery boy.

Try the y-piece route first as it increases the nice noise, without being too noisy.

Tourances get the nod from most who keep on the black stuff.

The BM alu panniers seem to get slagged off a bit on this site,but I`ve got them and I love `em,get them both on or off in less than a minute,and they really suite my silver bike.

John, by "the Y peice route" do you mean just replacing the cat and keeping the standard BM can?

Yes. I've got a Genesis can and the difference isn't very great in noise or weight. The y-piece difference in weight and noise is much greater. Noise being a nice throaty burble.
