Cant unlock mapsource

Hey all.

I'm having a problem unlocking mapsource, I go through the unlock process, enter the long code and then the box pops up that I must be connected to the internet (which I am) I put in the 7 digit code and when I click next, it says I'm not connected to the net? I can't figure out why? Any ideas.

I assume you mean that you can't unlock a copy of City Navigator. Mapsource is the platform which supports City Navigator and Garmin's other mapping software.

Are you using Vista as an OS on your machine and if so, have you downloaded the Vista compatible version of Mapsource?

Sorry it's not the unlocking the maps (done that) but it's the next step when I try and register with garmin. I put in the 7 digit code click next but it seems that garmin can't get on the net. It says "Error accessing the internet (12038) please verify the internet connection and try again" As far as I can see there is no problem with my net connection
