going with a mate of mine tomoz to see one, anybody on this site had one,or know what to look for .its a 56 reg with 8k on the clock.i dont know why hes asked me to go with him i know feck all about bikes.

There are a few known faults, 4 coils which are known to fail will make the FI light stay on but will run fine ubnless 2 fail on the same cylinder. Fix replace with ones from a reanult (I think).
Under the tank there is a big plastic connector which connects the generator wires to the loom, this can corrode and melt so no charge. Fix cut it off and solder wires together.

Those are the 2 main ones that come up on the forums.

I ran one for a year 07 abs model and nothing went wrong in 16000 miles. They fixed the coiles and connectors and there was an issue with the fuel tank connectors which were modifed. I choped it in for a fjr and choped that in for a gsa.I also had a gs 12 so I am well versed in the bikes. The cappo is comfy handels very well good power good brakes and I was getting aprox 40 mpg whare I was getting 47 from the gs and 45 from the gsa. All in all a very good bike under rated and very good value easy to work on change the oil ect. I heaed that the valves never need resetting (shims). JJH

Try PM-ing Pugsley on this forum- he has one. Had a good day out with him last year- they are not a bad bike

I Have one. They are brill if the price is right. 56 plate should have the better coils on. not a huge prob if not first coils tend to start failing @ approx 15k easy to check just take the seat off two coils right there. if they say SAGEM on them then they will need to be changed in the future (JCI is best make). forks have the stronger springs in them on the 56 reg. only other one is to check the brown connector on the rectifier. they tend to go about 15k too but this depends on how many gadgets you have plugged in :augie:augie:augie:augie.
Engines are bullet proof. head lights are good . seat very comfy. check the front disks, I think on this model they have floating disk's some make a racket but work well. 45 mpg on average. 25ltr tank.140mph ( so I'm told officer):augie:augie they tend to eat brake pads on the front 6-8k if lucky. rear shock seem to last well Mine's @ 34k now & still ok. Front wheel bearing last approx 20k. Rears I haven't changed mine yet. ALL in All you get a lot of bike for not a lot of money:cool::cool::cool::cool: If ya mate needs to ask anything please pm me and i will try to help.

Pugs/ John
