Sorry 2 say i got the same stats as u31 3 years no claims garaged etc
on a new gs1200 £282 fc with H&R insurance depends on your postcode aswell though

At the risk of repeating myself ...

Buy a wreck ! Footman James do a scheme that allows multiple bikes on one policy, so long as one of them is more than 15 years old i.e. vintage.
For some reason it's about half the price of insuring the GS on it's own, and you have something to take to bits in the evenings !
My GS (no no-claims, Londonish post code) was quoted at £425, but together with my '77 80/7 it's £230 ! Both fully comp, unlimited mileage and European wide breakdown cover. Wierd I know, but true.
The 'vintage' bike doesn't even have to be a runner !
The only caveat being you have to join the VMCC, which costs £25 a year.

It is quite fashionable to have a pop at Auntie Carol but they insured me for 3 years in a row and I had no reason to knock them. They came in cheaper than anyone else and their breakdown service was excellent - once when my Pegaso ran out of fuel (tosser!) and last year when some little scrote rear ended my bike. In the latter incident their guys were on the scene in less than 30 minutes, gave my bike a good going over before concluding it was safe to ride home minus my panniers (one of which was badly smashed) which they delivered to my home (80 miles away) the next morning.

I dropped them this year when BMW came in at the same price. The advantage BMW offer in my case is free loan bike insurance when my 16000 mile per year bike goes in for service.

No complaints about Carol!

2002 1150GS, 50 years old rider with full no claims but living in a poor post code area (some pratts had a riot about 5 years ago and decent folk are still paying for it!) = £232

BUT

above bike plus 05 1200GS = £253. Brilliant.

Even includes Uk and European breakdown cover.

Have used them for years and have always given excellent service, including the two claims I made with them.

BMW quoted me £10 more so no desire to change given some of the problems that members of this site have had with them.

I'd always rather pay a bit more for service/quality - part of the reasoning that led me to buy a BMW in the first place!

Re-arrange these words: Sinker, hook, line.;)

Carole Nash £350 Bennetts £198, 56 yrs old 9yrs no claims, the woman at CN couldn't explain why the big difference. So it's Bennetts again.

I got what I thought was a cracking deal from Carole nash, 3 bikes, legal cover, UK & Euro breakdown recovery £287.32.
Full no claims, 57, riding 5 years, IAM, garaged, alarmed.

31 year old
riding 1 year
1200GS
unlimited mileage
business use
alarmed
garaged
£900!!!!!!!!!! with B*W

Maybe it's the Leeds postcode.

CArole NAsh etc all quoted at least 50% extra.

It'll be two years riding and NCB in My so hopefully start seeing some reductions.

I had two classic bikes and two modern bikes with CN at a very reasonable £280 fully comp.
I removed one classic bike from the policy and it stayed the same premium. Wonder if it will go up when I add another classic? They said it wouldn't
