Carpuride W702 update

So Carpuride have restored the toggle for day/night mode on the W702. It was there originally and when they updated the unit to give you the option of not having the audio going through their unit they removed it to just a brightness slider. I've been having some issues (again) with my replacement unit so they sent me the latest firmware which has restored this toggle. I'd prefer it to auto dim but it doesn't have a sensor so this is at least a quick toggle to do that.

I can't get mine into Dark Mode.....not matter how I have the settings in Android Auto or the Waze app itself.

Is it difficult to update the software?

Dark mode for the apps themselves isn’t controlled by the Carpuride unfortunately that’s to do with Android Auto

This update is purely for the screen brightness control on the unit itself.

It’s not hard to update but there is always a risk of bricking the unit if it goes wrong.
