Le Verdon prend sa source tout près du Col d'Allos à 2150m d'altitude aux 3 Evêchés. Il descend vers Allos, arrose Colmars les Alpes, puis arrive à Castellane pour entamer la creusée de son chef d'oeuvre : les Gorges du Verdon.
