Hi I'm new to the forum so hello!!
I was having a good deal of trouble with my 1150 oil head with regards backfire and rough idle the bike is decat with oem silencer
I removed the yellow ccp and fitted a bridge wire exactly as steptoes photo and the difference is greatly improved especially smoothness around 4,000 rpm and now the popping is all but disapeared.
I was hoping to balance the throttle bodies now but don't have any sync gauges does any of you folks live local to leeds/Wakefield or know Any local specialist that I could pay to balance my tb,s
thanks folks .

Silicone tubing, a bit of oil and a plank.......job done :)

It's a vacuum measuring thing......connect one end of the tube to one TB and the other to the other......use as per any other expensive system, but be smug that it only cost you a couple of quid :beerjug:

Lots of videos on YT about 'home made manometers'

:)

Thanks for info folks I think it's worth getting my own manometer I'm pretty new to the 1150gs but Ive grown to like it ,Mechanically it is quite odd when compared to Japanese built equivalents
it reminds me of working on a vw beetle?
The engine has character and sometimes has the odd tap or clunk that dissappears depending on what day or side of the bed it's got out of.
Bit like our lass really.

it is real easy to make your own manometer

about 4 meters of clear tubing from B&Q and a 1 meter stick
The 2 meter point (half the length of the tube) goes at the bottom of the stick.
fill with water so about 30cm of water in the tube each side, 60cm total.
Remove the black bung plug on one side TB and attach the tube
Remove the black bung plug on the other side TB and attach the tube
Start up motor bike
one side will pull more vacuum than the other and will show by the water in the tube being higher than the other side.
you can add food coloring to make it easer to see the water
some people use ATF (auto trans fluid) I think.
Just be careful that the engine doesn't suck in / ingest the water

as for Balanceing the TB, plenty of info out there how to it.
It is really rather easy
