First Question - do 1200's have one?

I have Remus Headers and a Remus Genesis End Can on my 1200 - fitted by the dealer here in South Africa at the 1,000km/600mile service. The bike backfires a bit on a trailing throttle (3,000 to 4,000 revs).

Second Question - if the answer to the First Question was yes, do I need a different Cat Plug for this set-up?

Third Question - if the answers to 1 and 2 were yes, should the dealer have changed it when they fitted the headers and can? (and if so, why did they not give me the old one back with the stock headers and can!).

As you can tell by the above, I have just read a thread and realised the posibilities!

Solution on a trailing throttle

My R12GS has a Staintune slip-on and recently I installed a home made Y pipe in order to eliminate the heat generated by the Catalizer. I beleive I had the same problem as you: when acelerating in between 3,000 and 4,000 RPM I used to hear a hard "Pop" but on the overun nothing. First I took the bike to the dealer to add new software, and have a new "Load" with the exhaust +Y pipe addition (more free flow). And second, I adjusted the fuel injection sincronization.

The first measure eleiminated most of the "Pop" the second one almost eliminated the same, but sitll have some of it. I think that you probably must check your bike with the GT-1 at the dealer.
