HI to all :) , I have fitted a y piece to my 1150gs and have been told to rmove the cat code plug by a friend, can anyone explain what difference this will have to the running of my bike if i remove this.
The lambda sensor is attached to the y piece.
Many thanks Andy

diffrent mappin, try it with an without, run it how its best, wont hurt,

Bear in mind the following....

I did the mod when I fitted a Stubby to the 1150... felt perkier ...

Then got the bike dynoe'd with and without, and despite how it felt the bike was making more horses and torque without the mod ;)

Mine was a twin spark, works well with some, not so well with others :thumb

Hay Bryn, What was the Fuel Air Ratio like in each case, not too lean?
I am looking at making the GSA a bit louder but I'm worried about going too lean.

Rockchunk what did you end up doing in the end?

I find the GS runs pretty lean anyway so I would be a little concerned about leaning it out more. Are your Plugs not super clean? Did you consider fitting something to richen it up a bit, like a power commander?

iv richened mine up with a techlusion, and got more mpg, so dont bank on it being leaner, lean can mean more throttle at a given speed, hence less mpg

03 1150 gs ,,y piece ,,remus titanium ,,k&n ,,ccp mod,,,,bike runs fine plugs light brown ,,,,,wouldn't consider a power commander without a dyno run,,, as far as i know the only way to tell accurately :nenau

It would be cool if you could run the bike on the road plugged into a laptop in a rucksack and get a Fuel/Air Ratio graph. I think with the Ducati Technoresearch VDSTS software you can.

In fact, this is just the ticket!!
