excellent vids, I can't believe how quiet it is over there, the roads seem empty - probably a good thing though as they dont seem very wide either

The lack of traffic was very noticable tbh. It's mostly down toa very small population but I think the speed limit helps there also, as everyone sticks to it, and it is low enough for lorries to stick to also, so nobody gets held up. Then visitiors can show scant regard for the limit. :augie

But it's MPH isn't it officer???

I actually wondered if one of those mountain hairpin roads was one way as you seemed to have a clear run nearly all the way down and then...

The track bypassing the tunnel, there hardly seemed enough room for you to get the bike through the gate in the middle, how come there where car tracks all the way along it?

The tracks are from when it was the main road before the tunnel was built. The gate was put in when the tunnel was opened to stop people straying (effective huh?

) I guess. The panniers had about 2" either side, hence Guy was taking a pic of me passing through. No doubt he will stick it up here eventually.

There's a better one we did later on that goes alongside a cliff to the right and a steep drop to a lake on the left, with much looser gravel. I will stick it up sometime soon, probably not till the weekend tho as I am off to York tonight to look at our new house and hopefully get her a job tomorrow!

I'm trying to edit the vids into some sort of a story telling ride report type thing, but allthough they play ok on WinMediaPlapyer and WinMovieMaker, when I edit them and try to save them from WMM they then won't play on WMP or anything else. :nenau

I tried using DivX author but I can't get it to do the things WMM will. :blast

A suggestion though... wouldn't this be better in the Ride Reports section, with a heading "Funner's and Adam's Norway Tour 2009" :nenau

Yeah I will stick it there too mate. Just this should be the first place people go for ideas about a trip to Norway, so I thought it was more helpful here.

Wow that brings back some great memories.

I`ve been to Norway a couple of times on the GS before we cut ourselves off from that beautiful country.

The road down to Lysbotn was on our first trip and what an introduction to the country that was!!

We stayed in youth hostels which was a cheap way to get a clean bed, shower and breakfast, around £18 to £20 a night.

I may have to try the Harwich to Denmark route. Gotta get back there :drool
