CB1000gt delivery?

I collected the bike from the dealer on Thursday pm, along with a box of all the parts which have been replaced due to the Comfort and Urban pack fitments. Looked good I had only seen one this colour before and realised it was the right option. Price under £15K
First ride just to get the tyres PR6 GT scrubbed in. Instantly felt comfortable good riding position bars good and arms relaxed. Rode for about 3 hours 100 miles couple of stops to look at settings etc. First impressions good, high screen works well but too well for 32c as they was little direct airflow the same with the hand guard extension (but that was what they are for).
Next the weekend, went to Lincolnshire for a bit of a Tour/running-in did 425 miles over 2 days with a friend on his S1000XR 2024 gen 3 so can now comment.
Engine - still running-in so used mid range rev 2-6000 rpm (plenty of fast enough) very smooth good torque through the range. 25mph in 5th no snatching just smooth acceleration. 56 mpg over 150 miles yesterday with full luggage on mixed roads and spirited riding (approx 400 miles covered by then)
Gearbox - a bit tight still up and down quick shift good but will bulk if multiple gear change down but I think that is due to mileage.
Ride and handling - relaxed riding position suits the bike I have 32" ISL and can flat foot both feet, you need very little input to change direction. Towards the end of the weekend I was just changing my body position to go round bend no bar input needed. It was so stable even under braking no pitching diving it just got on with it the electronic suspension was brilliant, compared to the S1000xr which is the fully spec'ed everything fitted £23K in dynamic setting was not a comfortable as my CB1000gt. Tyres so far very good as expected as I do not get on with Bridgstones tyres I was relieved to find I had the Michelin tyres.
Just a bit of history I sold my gen1.5 S1000xr TE HP which I had for 8 years and 15k touring so have some experience of this as my gauge for the CB1000gt I have also ridden my friends current model. During my time with my previous bike i found that over a decent mileage 150 miles ride I would have aching shoulders and neck, during the weekend riding on varied roads and spirited riding, if anyone knows the Lincolnshire wolds area, as a test ground most riding conditions are covered I had no aches and real fatigue it was that easy to ride both quick and in traffic. I've now covered 509 miles and I'm booked in for the first service next week due to my bike being currently at EvoTech more of that later.
Anyone interested there are some demo bikes, CJ Balls Norwich have one, try it you have nothing to loose.
I check the oil once home after the weekend, still to the top mark of the dipstick

Thanks, also discovered the Pyramid front and rear fenda extenders from the CB1000 Hornet and SP 2025 fit the GT also. maybe of use to someone.

Good read Barny, thank you, Mine is due 15th August so fingers crossed, went to Brayleys Honda yesterday for a demo only to be told that they do not do demos on a sunday !! I asked the guy whats the quickest I could get one he said September I told him I had one on order and it should be here on the 15th of August he replied yes the same I said I thought you said September he replied "yer well its the same" no sorry I could not leave that and said how is August the same as September ? he replied "well its only a month wait till you get a phone call saying they have been delayed"
he then turned to the guy who just walked up and asked him the same question "October mate" I just looked at him and he walked away, I did have a good sit on it and a decent look around it, and in true Honda style toe fit and finish seemed really nice, I also took a few photos and matched up the front and rear fender extenders and exhaust from the Hornet and they will all fit, so ordered the front and rear, ive ordered my bike with the Akrapovic, comfort, sport and urban packs so hopefully it should all come with it, cant wait now it was a very comfi position Im hoping mine comes with the Road6s not the alternative Dunlops !!

Great write ups. Thank you. Now you’ve ridden them how do you think the weight bias is. I’ve reached that age when I’m struggling with bikes that are heavy up top.

Well regarding the weight to me it seems better balanced than the S1000xr and easier to move/push even fully loaded and I'm the wrong side of 69. The weight does feel lower down, even with a good fuel load, getting off the side stand after refueling was easy enough and the main stand for once seems easy to use again even when fully loaded. Honda do seem to have done their homework with this bike. The only very very slight criticism which many bike manufactures are guilty of is --- the position of the side stand when sitting on the bike its not easy to see but I've had no problem.
One more tip the side stand is the same a Hornet and SP so foot extenders will fit.
to me coming from an Africa Twin Adventure Sport it felt really light
If anyone has a picture of the lower fairings as mentioned above love to see them as id be very interested in them
