CB750 FN2 winter project - cafe racer.

£300 project.

1993 Honda CB750 FN2 that had been sat outside unused and unloved for 6 years.

Purchased from a fellow member on here!

Short ride to Hull from York to collect the winter project.

Was undecided which way to go, restore, strip for parts, or maybe a cafe racer?

Next day after getting it home, started to take it apart. Tank off, check spark to all pots, all good.

Carbs were looking a bit sad, and stiff - next job remove and clean.

After a thorough clean, years of gunk, crap and all sorts removed the carbs were reassembled and fitted back on bike.

New battery arrived in post, rigged up a separate tank with fresh juice and after a bit of persuasion she has life!! 6 years of standing and still sounds fairly good - apart from the blowing on the down pipes....

Next stop, eBay for ideas - cafe racer style!

Made a bit of progress at the weekend.

Painting to follow, and more chopping of frame....

Engine out next to clean and paint, brackets to make up for seat unit, bit of wiring to sort and general tinkering!
